Feb 7, 2012 Domestic reforms are transforming the country’s civil landscape.
Myanmar's civilian government has made a number of reforms to improve
its record in human rights. Since late 2011, it has been reported that
hundreds of political prisoners have been released, restrictions on
freedom of speech and internet access have been relaxed, and a number of
peace deals with ethnic rebel groups have been made.
But has the government actually followed through on their word, and have
the changes made a real difference in the lives of Burmese citizens?
