Yangon, Feb 20 : Myanmar is planning to add two new international
airports in the country and is reportedly asking for investment from
Japan and Singapore.
The two new airports would be Hanthawaddy international airport in
central Bago region and Dawei international airport at Dawei sea-port in
southern Tanintharyi region.
Of the two planned airports, the existing Dawei domestic airport will be upgraded to international level within three years at a cost of USD 4 million, Xinhua quoted officials of the civil aviation department as saying.
At present, besides three international airports, there are 29 regional airports in Myanmar. (IANS)
