Enterprise (IE) Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation (SBF),
are leading 115 delegates from 74 Singapore-based companies on a
week-long mission to Myanmar from February 12 to 18, 2012.
The delegates will network with local businesses, key business
associations and government leaders, including president Thein Sein.They will also visit the Thilawa Special Economic Zone and Hlaing Thar Yar Industrial Zone.
Delegates will also attend the Singapore-Myanmar Investment Seminar on Feb 15, which will provide more information about the government's plans for economic development, investment policies and import and export licensing initiatives.
'Through this business mission, we hope to gain a better understanding of the business environment in Myanmar, and how we can better collaborate,' said delegate James Aw, director of business development at building construction group Hor Kew Corporation.
Bilateral trade between Singapore and Myanmar amounted to S$1.63 billion in 2011 and S$1.69 billion in 2010.
