A date has yet to be fixed.
The UN chief met Aung San Suu Kyi at her home in Rangoon.

She was not in the capital, Naypyitaw, to see his speech to the parliament on monday because of a stand-off over a parliamentary oath for new MPs.

Opposition MPs expected to take their seats last week had baulked at pledging to safeguard what they believe is a flawed constitution.

However, in an unusual about-face, Aung San Suu Kyi has now agreed to take the oath, as soon as Wednesday.

Ban Ki Moon has welcomed the decision in the interests of democracy.

He has called for the lifting of sanctions to encourage development in Burma, although the opposition favours a more gradual approach.
