Japan Airlines and Mitsubishi Logistics Corp have launched a joint cargo business in Myanmar, reported Kyodo News.
The joint firm is preparing logistic routes connecting Myanmar and other Asian countries including Japan, eyeing demand for the transportation of building materials related to Japanese official development assistance as well as clothing, the companies said.
The joint firm is equally owned by Jupiter Global, a JAL subsidiary based in Hong Kong, and Mitsubishi Logistics.
A series of logistic companies, including Nippon Express and Kamigumi, have already entered the Myanmar market.
